Great small applianceSo nice to have an appliance that does more than one function. Slow cook, rice, steam and oatmeal. Now I can get rid of a slow cooker, etc. So far works great.

Is this rice cooker able to be set on a timer? For example, can you add in ingredients and have it start cooking 4 hours from then? Thanks a bunch!
Please read the following for how to cook brown rice in the Krups® Programmable Rice Cooker (which can be found in the instruction guide)
"The cooking guide for brown rice:
Measuring 4 cups of rice put the water level to the 4.5 cup mark and it will take about 35-40 minutes
The plastic cup is only used for measuring rice and not the water
If you use an instant rice it may result in a sticker rice.
The rice cooker will automatically determine the exact cooking time depending on the quantity of water and rice placed in the bowl.
When the volume of water has been absorbed by the rice, the appliance stops the cooking process automatically and swatches to the âKeep Warmâ mode (the orange âkeep warmâ light comes on)
These are approximate and for guidance
To cook rice:
Pour the required quantity of rice into the bowl using the measuring cup provided;
Then fill with cold water up to the corresponding âCUPâ mark printed in the bowl
Close the lid
NOTE: Always add the rice first and then water otherwise you will have too much water.
Check that the appliance is plugged in. Briefly press the ârice cookingâ key. The red ârice cookingâ light flashes for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds the light remains steady and the cooking automatically starts
After each use empty and clean the condensation collector."
Thank you for choosing Sears and have a great day!
yes, it produces steam thru the small steam hole at the top of cooker just when its finished cooking....I just turn it away from cupboards...It doesn't do it for long, but it needs to for proper rice cooking...great rice cooker!
