Pretty good carseatWe switched from an infant car seat to the Eddie Bauer sports model. The price was great, the seat itself works really well in our Honda SUV, which is not very roomy in the back. This seat is nice and compact, has an easy to use belt clip, hasn't snagged or twisted (all of which drove us batty with the infant seat). We are happy with everything except the colour. Wish more cheerful colours were available. Also, the extra seat cushions could do with some sort of attachment to hold them in place as you put your child in, minor flaw though. Definitely a product worth the bucks.

Your child will outgrow this seatI used this seat after my daughter outgrew her bucket seat. I used it rear-facing and forward facing. The seat works fine and it is compact.
The first problem I had was when my daughter was 23 months old. I was trying to keep her rear-facing as long as possible but the strap between her legs can only be used on settings 1-2 in the rear-facing position and at that point they were extremely tight and I had to switch her to forward facing earlier than is recommended (she is very thin so on many children I would expect this to be a problem earlier).
The real concern is that she became too tall for the seat just before she was 2 and a half years old. The straps in the forward facing position must be at or above your child's shoulders (the opposite is true in the rear-facing position) and my daughter was already too tall but nowhere near the weight limit. She is tall but I have a hard time believing any 4 year-old would fit in this seat.
I contact a car seat safety specialist and she confirmed that most children outgrow this seat.
The seat is fine. But you would be better off buying one that will fit your child until they no longer need a 5 point harness.
Note: this seat is the exact same seat as the Cosco Scenera with a different pad. If you still want this seat, the Scenera is cheaper.

Excellent ChairI bought this chair initially for my boy. It's very confortable and easy to install. You can use it both forward and rear facing. It's easy to tilt so your child can fall sleep and his head will have support.
I liked it so much that we decided to buy a second chair same model for our newborn girl. She will use it once she grows a little and both of my cars will have one chair.
The only drawback is the cupholder. I still don't know how to put it in place. Don't count on it too much. There is only one.

Sears disappoints terrificallyMy wife, Darlene, and I started out our married life with the purchase of a washer and dryer from Sears. Over 25 years later we discovered an automated, scripted and uncaring customer experience when we attempted our most recent purchase. The product, an Eddie Bauer car seat, is a good product and will serve our baby granddaughter well. It will be our last purchase ever from Sears. In our attempts to order it both online and over the phone we soon learned that although we had much available in credit, we were not allowed to purchase. To further complete our customer experience, we had a chance to speak with the customer service representative from Chase Financial. Underwhelmed and under serviced, we ended up ordering COD. At the local Sears outlet we were amazed when two Eddie Bauer car seats greeted us at the pickup counter. We retreated with only one.
To Sears: retreat and reexamine how you deliver the customer experience. Listen to your customers.. Two things are now gone from my life: the original washer and dryer and my next order to Sears

Does this infant car seat have a CMVSS sticker (for official use in Canada)?
Is it easy to adjust the harness straps? I know some have a single pull strap in the middle of the seat to easily tighten the harness. It's a real pain to keep the harness adjusted when we go from bulky clothes to thin clothes if you have to reach around the back and fiddle with straps. How do you adjust the harness straps?
Yes, it is by far one of the easiest I have come across and we have been through a few seats. You can't adjust it single handedly but the system is very simple, push a button while pushing belt in to lengthen or pulling belt to tighten. All in all it is an extremely user friendly car seat.
I need to secure this seat (Item #: 322 027 226 10) in a car that predates UAS or Latch tethering options. I either need to know if this seat can be secured with the standard adult seat belt or require the Eddie Bauer product number in order to get the product owner's manual online.
