Rated 2 out of 5 by from These are block out material not curtains. I bought 4 of these in white. The white is not as white as some say as it is block out material not a curtain per say. I guess some could use as a curtain as they have sewed the material to be able to use as curtain. The backing is yellowish or beige if you will just like when you purchase black out material alone. The sun will burn the backing as the backing is suppose to be facing the actual curtain when used as black out. If you are looking strickly for blackout this will do the trick. They are very very stiff. You are not going to get a luxurious look here but for blocking sun it does work till the sun eats up the backing. My ratings are as follow for block out purpose I give it a 5star for looks I give it 1star. As mentioned these are NOT curtains they are blackout material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bon obscurcissement de la fenêtre.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Marcela Faux-silk Panel curtain foam back Purchased tab-top style. Good as insulator of sound and temperature. Tab-top letting light in at top. Takes long time hung up to have wrinkles fall out despite steaming them. Allow extra panel length to ensure window is well covered for room-darkening effect. 3 times width for fullness too much for darkening effect, better with 2 times window width.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Couvre bien Nous avions besoin d'un rideau permettant de réduite la luminosité de la pièce. L'objectif est atteint. Les panneaux assombrissent quasi totalement la pièce.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blackout curtains. If you are looking for blackout curtains, these panels will work for you - I have mine hanging on a west-facing window and you can't even see the window through them. My only suggestion is to hang them as close up against the window as you can. Find a rod that does not stick out too far from the wall as that gap is where the light will come in at the top, the sides and the bottom - where the curtain is not touching the wall. (My curtains hang down far past the window sill and light still trickles out there as my rod is not close to the window.) But you can't see the window through these curtains - they really do block the light. If you want ultimate light bockage, you can hang these with a rod that is 3" from the wall, and then you could install a pull-shade underneath (we use a combination of both when we want to have the window open a bit but still block as much light as possible while allowing airflow).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I ordered these curtains in the 63" length in white and returned them the very next day. Although the length was perfect the white was a bluish white and the curtains themselves are very stiff almost like heavy duty shower curtains. I normally do not order curtains, these curtains were ugly and the picture provided by Sears is not what they really look like. I'm only giving 1 star because the length was exactly what I wanted and the delivery was fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Drapes My hubby and I were looking for drapes like these, and they are hard to come by, but, Sears had them, and they are easy to take care of!!

curtain rods for Marcela back-tab panels

I would like to purchase Marcela back-tab panels. The window is 261 cm wide, (and 84 inches long) and the current curtain rod is not sturdy enough to support blackout curtains. Could you recommend a curtain rod sold by Sears that will support this weight and that is wide enough?
Asked by:
As the Sears associate mentioned, there are many options for curtain rods that will hold blackout panels. If you are able to, just install a centre support (most longer rods include one) and that will provide enough support - even on longer rods up to 144" using 6 drapery panels.

Difference between foam backing and blackout

Wondering what the difference is between foam backing and a blackout curtain. On another curtain the following description is given: "Foam backing: Blocks out 99.9% of light; Reduces outdoor sound by 48.7%; Reduces heat loss* by 47%". I'm wondering if that applies to this drapery (marcela faux silk foam back) as well. Thanks.
Asked by:
I am not sure which curtains you are comparing these to, but I bought another set of curtains that claimed: • Blackout panels: Blocks out 99.9% of light, Reduces outdoor sound by 45%, Reduces heat loss* by 45% and they were not in fact, blackout panels, nor did they block 99.9% of the light as claimed. These Marcela panels DO block out the light though as stated. Just make sure to hang them close up against the wall as any gaps on the sides, top/bottom where the curtain is not touching the wall will let some light in (even if hanging far past the window). Make sure your curtain rod does not stick out far, just far enough that you can slide the curtains is best.

I need my curtains to be white on the back due to condo rules. Do the curtians have white on the back or are they the colour of the curtain?

ease of movement

are back tab draperies easy to move along rod?
Asked by:
Yes, but where the two pieces of the rod connect, I had to put tape around the connection because whenever I pulled the drapes closed the tabs would catch a little on the connection.

What is the name of the blue colour?

In the main photo, the curtains are a blue-ish colour. Is this the Grey Quartz or the Deep Boulder Beige? And am I right that this is a shade of blue? Thanks!
