Rated 4 out of 5 by from i really like this stove. it seems to bake evenly and nice to be able to use the 3 racks at one time. the burners are a nice size and seem to heat evenly. I have not used the aqua lift self clean yet but I will use it where as I was just too scared to use the regular self clean with the high heat. just afraid of that so the way I look at it , this low temp steam clean will be better than nothing. there is not heat selection on the dials to tell you whether your heat is at 4 or 5. just high low. also I can never tell which is the front and back burner. they have pictures but it depends which way you are looking at the stove doesn't it. what is supposed to be the back burner if you are standing there looking at the pictures the back becomes the front. I got little labels at the dollar store so now I can tell without standing there trying to figure it out. the press pads should have been bigger and easier to read. you certainly need your glasses. it is easy to clean, the top is a motly colour and just not all black that shows everything. that is one reason why I bought this stove over others. nothing shows as much the only complaint I have is that I can never tell which burner is the front , I need the F and the B not a picture also the press pads could be bigger and the printing far bigger love the way it operates though.

Stove Top

Can this stove top handle a canner and can I use my regular pots or do I need to purchase new ones?
Asked by:
Hello, Please see below for information, from the owner's manual for the Whirlpool® 30'' Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range, regarding the proper cookware and canning process: Cookware Ideal cookware should have a flat bottom, straight sides and a well fitting lid, and the material should be of medium-to-heavy thickness. Rough finishes may scratch the cooktop or grates. Aluminum and copper may be used as a core or base in cookware. However, when used as a base they can leave permanent marks on the grates. Cookware material is a factor in how quickly and evenly heat is transferred, which affects cooking results. Cookware with nonstick surfaces should not be used under the broiler. Check for flatness by placing the straight edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware. While you rotate the ruler, no space or light should be visible between it and the cookware. Home Canning When canning for long periods, alternate the use of surface burners between batches. This allows time for the most recently used areas to cool. ■ Center the canner on the grate above the burner. ■ Do not place canner on 2 surface burners at the same time. ■ For more information, contact your local agricultural extension office, or refer to the USDA Home Canning Guides. Companies that manufacture home canning products can also offer assistance. Thanks for shopping Sears and have a great day !
