I rated this product a 4 star due to its functionality with the wireless signal which is not strong enough to reach beyond 5 meters. I was required to install a com wire to within 1 meter from the unit for it to work properly.

This product rates high in all other aspects. Lighted keypad for night use, protective cover for rain and or snow, detailed instructions for programming.

I recommend it.

Does this digital keypad use wires?

Q:Â

To be universal it must have wires running directly to the garage door opener and momentarily close the "door open" switch when the correct code is entered. This means that it does not have batteries, but is powered by the small voltage presented to the switch. Please confirm my guesses. If the answers are all 'yes', this is what I have been looking for.
PS: Are the security codes field-resettable, and how many digits per code?

Hello BigDave,

The Universal Clicker Keyless Entry, Item # 18733 is a wireless keyless entry. It is not wired to the garage door opener and it runs on batteries. You can select a 4-digit pin and these can be reset.

Keyless Entry for Garage Door

I have a Craftmaster 1/2 Hp garagedoor opener with keyless entry.
The system workes fine with the exception of the keyless keypad.
However, the system is 13 years old and the colour of the push button on the remote opener is grey not blue or black. I cannot find this keypad on the web site.
Do you have a solution for a new keypad that would work with this older system?
The problem may be that one of the numbers that is part of the security number is loss and appears not to make contact. How can I reprogram this older model, as the newer models have * & # buttons, this older model has neither.
