Room darkening blinds

The fit is perfect and i like that they do not have cords. They look great and do a great job at keeping the rooms dark. We live i Northern Alberta and need to keep the light out of the kids rooms so that they can get to sleep at night. They pull down and up with ease. We are very satisfied with this product.

Good blinds - darken a room well and were easy to install. Only drawback is high-quality blinds are heavy at the bottom so they sit on the sill properly. These blinds are very lightweight, and getting them to sit on the sill (and cut out all the light) can be tricky. But overall, good product for the price.

Twilight cut-to-fit Cordless

When I placed my order, I was skeptical that it would not be wide enough to fit my window. The color and the width works perfectly in my bedroom! The directions are "pictures only" so you have to really pay attention how to install. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LINE UP THE BRACKETS WITH THE CORD REWIND. Line up the brackets to the right or left. The hardware is durable and once I figured it out, it was so easy and took now time to hang it up. We like a dark bedroom, and the blind lets no light shine through. I have to mount "outside casing" and with the waffle design, it fits snug to the window casing. (Unlike a regular flat roller blind) It's very attractive. Raising and lowering the blind can be done with just one finger. I am sure that this will last many years. I will never buy a flat blind again, this is much better.

width of headrail on twilight room darkening cellular chades

could someone please tell me if the twilight blinds have a 1"or 2" headrail? I have been transferred to several different areas and no one can seem to give me this answer. As these are custom fit I need to know before I order as they cannot be returned

Yes. I have mine mounted on the outside window frame. And they can be mounted inside the window. The brackets work both ways.

Yes, but keep in mind if they're installed on the outside, when the shade is down you're going to be looking at the open cells at the ends. And they may not work as good at insulating if they're mounted on the outside of the window, although they should still have some effect.

I ordered exactly my window width, and they accounted for the little extras, so that the blind matched the right width. Although make sure you measure the window width at the top, bottom and middle, and use the smallest measurement, because not all windows are perfectly square.

You're right, absolutely no light gets through these blinds. They're great for bedrooms. You want to choose light-filtering if you want some brightness to enter the room, but still have privacy or no direct sun.

Room darkening and blackout blinds/shades will block the majority of light from coming in your window and will provide complete privacy. Light-filtering blinds/shades allow light to filter through the blind/shade material but allows you to maintain your privacy.

Yes, I would say they could be, because it would be the same as when you mount it to the inside of the window frame, with the 2 screws going through the top of the mount. Although I'd only do it if you had a wood ceiling, if you had plaster, drywall or spackle I wouldn't do it, because you need it screwed into a firm surface so that it can hold the weight of the blind and the tension as you raise it up and down.

My window is 42" long. I ordered the 48". When I pull my blind down, the rest of it stays folded up at the bottom of the blind. It doesn't look bunched up at all.

The extra would be at the top of the shade, and the cells open as you pull the shade down, so the bottom cells would be fully open and the top cells not as much. But it's a gradual effect and still looks great, in my opinion.

They don't customize length, only width. When mounted you pull the shade down to where you want it to sit and it stays there. The "extra" stays at the top of the shade, with the cells not as open as the ones at the bottom. But the effect is even and gradual, so it looks great. If you really want the length custom as well, you have to go to a retailer like Hunter Douglas, they customize length and width, but it will cost you twice as much.

If you can't order the exact width you need, then I wouldn't do it, they're smallest is 18" I believe, and the up and down mechanism is inside the rail, so you couldn't trim off anymore without damaging the mechanism.

I don't think so, because the blind has to clip into the brackets that are screwed to the wall and it can only clip into the top rail. Although with installing the brackets you can screw them to wood either horizontally (ie. the wall) or vertically (ie. to the top and inside of the window frame), but it must be in the same location as the rail, since this is how it attaches.
