TimexÂ® Womens "Field" Watch

This is in response to 'ruraldweller' the only other person who wrote concerning this particular watch.My overview is NOT a criticism of the latter overview, rather I have simply tried to give my understanding of the watch's real purpose in life! :-)Yes, the subject watch is larger than the norm for a woman as it is actually intended for the specific purpose as noted in part of its name-"Field".When someone is out in the 'field', say, birdwatching, and it is necessary, for whatever reason, to check the time, you don't want to have to put down your binoculars, take off your gloves, roll up your jacket sleeve and, finally, squint at the usual small faced watch, with those tiny wee numbers, to find out the time!! :-( All you have to do with this Timex masterpiece :-) is nudge up your sleeve an inch or so and VOILA... it's 4:33pm 'Timex Field Watch' time...time to finish off one's entries in their 'birder's notebook', leave the birds & 'fields' behind and walk the road back to the cottage.It's time for cocktail hour...then dinner and a lively discussion with ones birder friends as to WHO saw the most EXTRAORDINARY bird of the day, WHERE it was seen and, of course, at WHAT TIME!!! :-) :-) Warmest regards to anyone who might read this!!

Pros:Â Original, High quality, Versatile, 'time' is easy to read...., ..... at night too!, survives swamps and, drops too and it just, keeps on ticking..., ....and ticking!!!

This is listed as a ladies' watch, but has a dial diameter (without stem) of 1 3/8". Very nice looking watch, too large
