PassIt was not all what I thought it was! It was difficult to use and leaked everywhere. The more we tried to fix it the more or leaked. When we finally got it to stop leaking we plugged it in and it made a horrible noise and was unable to turn or tumble at all. It just vibrated with noise. How anyone would be able to stand that noise on top of the leaking water and grit for the ridicules amount of time it takes is beyond me. Wishing I hadn't got the refill.

She was thrilledGreat product at a great price. My niece (age 5) was able to use this rock tumbler with some adult help. It's still running through it's first stage but all is good so far.

Snithsonian Rock Tumbler and Refill Kit - I have wanted to get a tumbler for many years. I have 4 grandchildren and they are always bringing me "precious stones" and now i have a huge heap of them. I can now tumble them and make them into something i can keep and display. The rock tumbler does a good job, the only thing i would change, is i would get a larger drum and maybe a more powerful motor to handle larger loads. That's just because i have such a huge back log of pepples to catch up on. The tumbler is easy to set up and the instructions are written out so that a grandmother can do it.
Hi, I was wondering if the rock tumbler takes batteries or does it come with an adapter? I would also like to know if this is an item that you can re-use or is it only designed to work for the few stones that are included with the machine?

no, had one of these years ago. Worked good, but it did take electricity-and it ran continuously for a long time. I had to relocate the tumbler to the garage, as it was too noisy inside the house, especially at night. Electric bill will go up a bit, also.
