Does the 17.5" by 40" include all four plants as shown in the picture, or does each 17.5 by 40 only have the one plant?

all the stems and branches are separate and you don't have to put them in the look that is pictured. As you can see by my review, I have ordered 2 sets of the leaves and branches and vined them a cross my entire wall for a different look. I even put a few loose leaves on like they were falling from the branches and I liked the look. Also you can remove them easily to reposition if you don't like the look at first. Later on it might be necessary to use a hair dryer to soften the plastic to make them easier to move & position. I hope I've helped in answering your question.
