Its SAS design directs clean air into the engine housing so the saw runs cooler and generates more power. This innovative design results in reduced maintenance requirements, extends the time between air filter cleanings and give the saw a longer life. An all-position purging primer will not flood the engine if over-primed, so starting is made easier. A gear-driven automatic chain oiler constantly applies the correct amount of oil to the chain and bar. And with a sprocket tip the chain does not come into direct contact with the bar tip so the likelihood of kickback is reduced and the life of the chain is extended.
