Wall-hugging bliss! My wife finally gave in, and let me get a recliner for the TV room. After a couple of weeks of searching, we discovered this online. Known as the Riding Mountain II on the Palliser site, the key selling point for me is the "wall-hugger" design. With the limited space where I wanted to put the chair, being close to the wall was important. It can sit only a few inches away from the wall, and it won't rub when reclining.
Ok, it's not perfectly comfortable in FULLY-reclined mode (due to the lumbar support), but in all other positions, the chair "fully supports" your body. If you've ever sat in one of those gravity loungers, you will know what I mean. The slightly textured leather is warm and supple, not cool to the touch, as some smooth leathers can be. I went for "Broadway Java", which is, as it sounds, a rich, dark coffee colour, despite the fact that the picture above looks more grey.
While I wasn't looking for a motorised chair, it certainly is a bonus. The "touch buttons" are discreetly placed on the inside of the seat cushion, so that you really can't see them until you actually sit in the chair.
The final bonus, was when I found out that the chair comes in two pieces. This made it simple to slide the box into my SUV, and also made it easier to get into the house. I envisioned having to take doors off hinges, and perform intricate manoevres to get this situated. I was able to carry the seat base up the stairs myself (not recommended), and then the backrest simply slides onto the supports and clicks into place.
