Planning is Key If You Buy This Treadmill

This is not my first treadmill. My 11 year old Trimline served us well but finally died. We took delivery of our new Norditrack treadmill just recently. This unit is very big and very heavy. The heaviness is based on the sturdiness of the components. The box is over 7 feet long and at least as wide as a standard door. So, if you have to go through any doorways, be ready. I wanted mine downstairs in the basement. Luckily my basement stairs are straight down with no curves. The delivery men were very accommodating. Getting it aligned with the door took a couple of tries. Make sure you have lots of room to unpack and assemble this beast. It took me an hour to unpack and another hour to cut the box into pieces for recycling. Also, read the instructions carefully. They are not as detailed as they could be and we ended up having to loosen all of the bolts to install 2 that weren't clearly defined in the words and photos. Also have a good set of Allen wrenches (preferably with torque handles) on hand. The short tool that comes with the kit provides very little torque for proper tightening of the bolts. They would be better off using hex head bolts that can be tightened with an open end or box wrench. Also make sure that you have all of the bolts started in the threads properly. You could easily strip the threads if youâre not careful. It took me and my wife 2.5 hours to assemble and set up. (Including the extra 30 minutes for the missing bolts) The folding option doesn't really make it easier to store. It just makes it easier to vacuum under. We used it for a short time once assembled and are very impressed with the options and operation. I think it might be a bit noisier than my previous machine but it is also much bigger and sturdier. We're excited about trying all of the programs.

Pros:Â Sturdy, nice features

Cons:Â large for small areas, not easy to assemble

Mine arrived and it's a A2550 Pro, at least that's what the box says and the decals on the treadmill. However the incline only goes to 10% whereas the A2550 Pro on the NordicTrack website goes up to 12% incline.

Hello:
This unit is not really "self lubricating" - no treadmill on the market lubricates itself.
It is "maintenance free" - meaning you do not need to lubricate it every 3 months like some units on the market. We use a special lubricant during manufacturing that allows you to use the proudct much longer before requiring re-lubrication. Of course, it is all dependant on how much you use your treadmill, but generally, you can go up to a year between lubrication.

Hello:
Like all decks, this product use MDF for it's strength. It is then coated with a specail matearial (called a phenolic coating) - this allows the surface to be very smooth, reducing fricition caused by the belt. The coating is used on both sides of the walking deck.
The product is designed to accomodate users up to a weight limit of 325 lbs.

This treadmill does NOT have the iFIT SD Card technology - it DOES have the new and latest version, called i-Fit Live.
