nice looking boot bad quality

bought these boots for an xmas gift for myself look great but horrible quality. leather cracking on top of boot, and the sole on the one side is coming apart. definitely not worth the money. Didn`t last the winter would not recommend. had better luck buying cheap boots at walmart. probably not able to return as husband through out the box with the receipt attached. definitely not happy

Sears doesn't post reviews that over a year old, so my original review of these boots has gone. That's a pity, because having them for so long meant I had insight into their pros and cons. First, I love these. They fit my 19" calves and are waterproof and the treads are great on snow, yet they are extremely lightweight. That said, they are SUPER-warm and NOT for indoors (or autumn). The bad news is that the sole wears out really quickly, and the leather on the foot part doesn't wear well. I had my first pair for only two winters and they already had cracked soles and a crack on the top of the foot. The cobbler said they were basically not repairable. It may not be important to some, but the price is a lot for me to spend on boots and I like them to last a while. But they are great winter boots for the wide of calf, and the brown is a lovely dark shade that goes with everything. Hope this helps!

I liked the fact they fit around the calves and seemed warm, plus I liked the look, nice alternative for winter weather and dressy office clothes. Unfortunatley, after first couple wears, they seams started coming unstitched. I'm wondering what will happen if I try and wear them this winter, if the stitching will totally just rip apart. Not a good value.

loved them at first...

I purchased these boots at the end of November....beginning of December...and loved them...at first...
The calf width is good....super comfortable to walk in...I bought the black leather and suede ones....looked good....warm and dry....

BUT...

By end of January....bottoms were wearing out! Soft rubber soles wore down very quickley under ball of both feet....so much so that water now comes in my boots!
Which is of course...uncomfortable and cold....but also hard to dry out! And....because of the way the bottom is built....don't think a shoe repair is possible....

So...happy at first....but not worth the money based on the fact that they lasted less than 2 months...

Nice Boots

I have been looking for boots with a low heel for awhile. These fit true to size. I would wear them with winter tights. If you want to put heavy socks in them them you would have to size up, and then the high part of the boot would be too big. My calf if 14''.and they fit perfectly. I tie the laces to the tightest and just use the zipper to get in and out of them. If you have a wider calf you will have to undo the laces part way and use the laces each time. They are not heavy duty winter boots. There is no fur in them, just a medium weight felt like insulation throughout the boot. I don't know what the sole is but it feels like rubber so you won't slip on the ice. Very comfortable. They are a very good quality leather boot.

Shaft Height:

This measurement is taken on the inside seam of the boot, and is measured from where the shaft meets to sole of the boot, to the top of the shaft. To determine where the top of a boot will hit on your leg, measure the height of the shaft against the inside of your leg, starting at your instep.
