''The mamaRoo isn't just another infant seat. Our team used motion sensors to measure the movements of real moms and dads as they soothed their babies, and guess what they found? Parents don't vibrate like bouncy seats or swing like swings. They bounce and sway, and that's what the mamaRoo does. It moves like you do. The mamaRoo has 5 unique motions: Car Ride, Kangaroo, Ocean Wave, Rock-a-Bye, and Tree Swing. Each of these motions has a different combination of smooth bounces up and down and sways from side to side, just like parents do when comforting their babies. And the speed of the motions is adjustable so you can slow down to rest or speed up for play. While resting in the mamaRoo, your baby can listen to 5 built in nature sounds or connect an MP3 player to provide your own playlist. The Plush mamaRoo has a new softer seat, updated interface, locking toy bar and speeds 50% faster. Gimmicky high priced itemWe received this as a gift for our first child less than two years ago. She hated it, but she is a particularly fussy child so I assumed it was her. Our second child is super easy going and doesn't fuss about much. He also doesn't like this. The mobile is boring, it doest move and the images are just ok. The movements of the seat are really noisy and the sounds it plays are just various white noise, no music. It's neat that you can plug your phone or iPod into it for music but that's the only good thing about this "swing". It forces infants chins to their chest and it doesn't have shoulder straps for older children who might lean forward. Total waste of money for my dear friend who bought this for us, thinking it must be great if Ellen Degeneres promoted it!
