Q:Â
I am wanting to purchase a comforter for my daughter living in Calgary. How do I judge the warmth of these comforters that you have for sale?

Hello LindaUSA,
As per our supplier:
The comforters that we carry are made with a standard polyester fill. There isnât a warmth rating on comforters as there is on a down duvet. The way a synthetic filled comforter keeps you warm, and the way a down duvet keeps you warm are completely different. A synthetic filled comforter reflects the heat back towards you and can lead to overheating. A down duvet keeps you warm with the air pockets formed between the down clusters. It allows excess heat and moisture to escape and leaves you feeling more comfortable with an even temperature throughout your rest. With a comforter, if you are still not warm enough, you would have to add a blanket to your coverings in order to get extra warmth. If the comforter keeps you too warm, there really isnât anything you can do to reduce the amount of warmth, other than removing the comforter. If you have used a synthetic filled comforter in the past, and have been happy with it, then this set will be fine for you.
Thanks for shopping Sears.
