Thank you for your recent question and for your interest in Lagostina products.

The cookware set is 18/10 stainless steel, the base technology consists of a layer of stainless steel, a layer of aluminum and a layer of stainless steel. The aluminum is sandwitched between 2 layers of stainless steel for an efficient even heat distribution.

Will the handles get hot?

We bought this set for a Christmas gift for our son. I have never steel handles on my cookware. We noticed it does have a black insert in the handles and wondered how hot the handles will get? If he does not use an oven mitt will he burn his hands?

Thank you for your interest in Lagostina products and for your recent question. There is no heat transference from the saucepan to the handles and there is a Santoprene (silicone insert) to provide a comfortable, safe grip which are also oven safe. Hoping this information has been helpful.
