CELIACS - avoid this toaster!!!

I've owned this toaster for about 3 weeks. I think it's gorgeous!! I bought the matching kettle and they look really nice together as a set. I absolutely LOVE the toast rack on top (see note below).

My problem is that, as a celiac, I am toasting rice bread or other gluten free bread, bun or bagel. I am finding that at the HIGHEST setting and while employing the defrost feature (because my bread is always frozen), I still have to toast my bread 1-1/2 times for a nice brown colored toast. This is a major inconvenience!! I want to return this toaster but I am not sure that any other brand would work either. I need a toaster that will toast my GF bread to perfection in one cycle (any recommendations?).

As mentioned above, I love the toast rack that it comes with. It's so unique and functional for me. It's perfect for my GF bread which is cut rather thinly. If you toast thick pieces of bread (> about 1 cm thick) you won't fit them into the rack.

I'm giving this toaster a 4 star rating because I think normal wheat bread would toast perfectly. However, as a celiac, I am VERY disappointed - it just doesn't have the guts to toast my GF bread well at all.

Pros:Â High quality, Attractive design, i love the toast rack

Cons:Â terrible for toasting gf breads, toast rack might be too narrow for some.
