Find it handy as it minimizes the mess when I'm addding flour and other dry ingredients. Shield could have a better fit though - comes off too easily.

Pros:Â Easy to clean, High quality

Cons:Â loose fitting lid

Thought this would be a great add on for larger liquids. It becomes more of an annoyance than a use and takes up a great deal of space when not in use. It's also not a thick plastic, so you have to be very careful where and how you store it. Take a look at it physically before purchasing.

Does not fit all stand mixers

Rosemary in Alberta is right. This model pouring shield does not fit all Kitchen Aid stand mixers.

This is Kitchen Aid's KN1PS pouring shield which probably work on their 5 QT. and smaller non-tilt and non lift bowls.

For larger capacity, tilt, and lift bowls, as I found out the hard way, you need Kitchen Aid's KN256PS which at the time of writing this Sear's does not carry.

The KN256PS pouring shield works for Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers that have the model number suffixes: KV, KT, KD or are models KP2671X or KP26M1X. You can order this from Kitchen Aid's Canadian shopping website.

I hope this helps others avoid this mistake.

No, it does not fit all KitchenAid stand mixers.

It is a way to small for my machine. Mine is a 5.5 quart bowl lift mixer and I can't find a pouring shield any where in Canada.

It's good quality, and it fits many different models so it might not fit snug on. It's great for baking receipes where you have to add ingredients as you mix.
