The right tool

for the price, it is a star. Bogs down a little when making bread, so more watts would be beneficial for heavy jobs, Also the pie crust recipe in the accompanying book just doesn't do well. Pie crust is better done in a food processor.

My First Stand Mixer

I was a bit apprehensive that it would not be large enough for my specialty Honey Cake which I bake in a large Angel Food Cake pan. It fitted just fine.
Used it successfully to mix dough for shortbread.

Pros:Â Easy to clean, Well constructed, Stylish, more modest size

Cons:Â heavy, challenge to store

My mother has had the identical one for about 10 years and it still works great. I have used mine and it works wonderfully. Such a time saver!

kitchenaid mixer

I purchased my classic kitchenaid mixer about a year ago. I LOVE it. I use it for baking cookies. making perfect pizza dough, whipping cream etc. Yesterday I purchased the attachments in the gourmet kit (pasta maker/meat grinder/ food slicer). I used it as soon as I got home to make pasta and sausages.(I didn't buy the sausage stuffer so my sausages were patties.) The pasta was a bit time consuming to make but well worth the effort as they turned out perfectly. The sausage was wonderful. A real treat for me. I had not made home mades sausages in over 15 years as hand grinding is difficult work. The meat grinder attachment made grinding the meat a breeze. I just ordered the sausage stuffer attachment for the grinder today. I can't wait 'til it arrives!
I also found that the attachments were easy to use. They just seemed to fit together in a logical way.

Pros:Â Easy to clean, Well constructed, Comfortable, Stylish, easy to follow instructions.

Kitchen Aid Mixer

I purchased my KA Mixer over 3 years ago, after my daughter got married and took hers with her. I missed hers so much, so purchased my own. It makes baking so much easier and quicker, I havent found a job it wouldnt do, tons of power. It is heavy, but this is why it is such a great machine. Thanks for such an amazing product, couldn't survive without this mixer!!

Pros:Â Easy to clean, Well constructed, Comfortable, Stylish, a must have!

I would say yes. I have the 250 watt model and when I was making bread dough, the mixer would slow down and would heat up. Had I had the 300W, I think that little more power would have caused less strain on the mixer. But--I only made bread dough once and don't intend to make any more. I would say that for all other 'mixes' your 250W is ample power.
