Q:Â
I have a much older Kenmore canister vacuum, with metal release buttons to connect/disconnect the wand from the handle. Do the current models have the same design? One post I read seemed to indicate the release mechanism is made of plastic, and prone to breaking.

The release mechanisms are synthetic but seem heavy duty, and are easy to use. There is a large button to remove the wand, and a lever to remove the hose from the vacuum. I find them much easer than ones on the old Filter Queen I had.

Hello IMWTK,
Our buyers have indicated that they are unable to compare this model with your older model, however they have supplied additional information for this model:
- Quick release power head - Upper/lower.
- Detaches the hose from the wand and the wand from the power nozzle for quick and easy conversion to different cleaning types.
- Metal wand - aluminum lightweight electrified telescopic. Easily extends. Adjust length to fit your needs.
Thanks for shopping Sears.
