Great starter machine

Having sewn only a few times in my life (with the help of experts), I was very pleased with how easy this machine is to use. The manual is very easy to understand and provides illustrations. It gives you tips and tricks, as well. It seems durable. As an amateur/hobbyest, it has all the features I need and more! I have no complaints about this machine, I love it!

Worked well until it broke

The machine was great until the needle stopped moving. Sears was really great with replacing it though. I'm on my second one and have not used it yet. I'm hoping that it works because I really did like it. It's very easy to use.

Easy to use machine that covers all of the basics, plus a few handy little added features. Excellent instruction booklet. Easy to follow for beginners.

This sewing machine is light in weight and easy to carry around, many mutiple functions which is great for different sewing like for patching jeans to making quits.

I just hemmed a pair of jeans with this sewing machine and went through the layers of denim easily and did a wonderful job. The key to sewing heavy fabrics is using the proper needle.

The KenmoreÂ®/MD Horizontal Sewing Machine does have the ability to hem. It does not come with a designated hemming foot, but one can be purchased separately. The part number is 200013105. The machine does come with a buttonhole foot.

Built in stitches are stitches on a sewing machine such as straight, zigzag, satin, etc. This model has twelve different types of stitches. Stitch functions are specific functions you can do with these stitches such as buttonholes, hemming, reverse, etc.
