Improvement over our old one

Had this new distiller for about 3 weeks now. It is faster and quieter than our old single unit that was also from Sears. You will still notice that fiant fan sound, but it is not bothersome. It seems to take 4 to 5 hours to fill the jug, which is also faster than our old unit. It is easier to clean as well, because you can remove the jug from the main unit and take it to the sink to clean.
On the bad side, there are more connections and seals etc. and therefore more to go wrong( than our old unit). So, how long it will last without problems, is a small concern. But Sears is usually pretty good as far as getting parts and service goes, so that it shouldn't be a big problem.
Definately happy with it so far.

Great value for clean water

Had this machine over 5 years. Run it every day. Makes water taste good,compared to tap.
Pitcher dribbles a bit at first when pouring. Never had trouble with machine. Most costly part is the carbon filter replacements, don't go on sale often.
Would purchase again immediately.
Notice it running in room, tend to run at night, not a big deal.

Pros:Â Effective, purifies well

Best Water Cleaner on the Planet.

This is my 3rd machine and i am proud to say this is an excellent way to remove toxins from the water.My experience is they last between 3-5 years and they pay for themselves.Best way to clean the gunk out of the tank is to pour in a 1/8 cup pure vinegar and let soak for a hour ...LOVE THIS MACHINE AND CANT LIVE WITH OUT IT.

Excellent product

This product takes disgusting tap water and removes almost everything. What you find in the jug after the water has been purified will keep anyone from drinking water right from the tap ever again. the only 2 problems we have encountered: (1) it takes 7-8 hours to purify each load (but uses very little electricity (2) after only 2 years the electrical died in the water purifying bucket. Would still strongly recommend this product.

Pros:Â Effective, Energy efficient, Lightweight, Quiet

Cons:Â takes 7 to 8 hours per load

Pros:Provides water that is free of impurities.It does as claimed.
Cons:After 5 years of using it at least 5 days/week,the only complaint is the rubber gasket in the lid seal split.The machine was still usable however.
All in all,I liked this product.

The filter housing simply snaps out from the outside lid of the serving carafe. Replacement filters are available through Sears Parts. The part number for the filter is Division 42 # 75282.

I have a Sears Water Purifier #34480 and I cannot located a replacement lid for the left hand container in our Sears store in Findlay, Ohio or on the internet. Today, I noted that Sears Canada carries the same model with a completely different number, item no. 422 075 280 10. The item that I have and the item shown on the Sears Canada website are exactly alike. Do you carry parts? If I cannot purchase a lid what would it cost to purchase the water purifier, item number 422-075-280-10?

This model will not remove iron, and for this problem we recommend the 75049 home filtration system that will remove iron in concentrations up to 15 ppm (parts per million).
