Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This dryer does a really good job of drying clothes. You can select the desired setting, including steam. Following the manufacturers instructions, clothes will be either dry, slightly damp, suitable for ironing or wrinkle free. You can also use the air dry setting and get the benefit of line drying without going outside. The unit is quiet with a digital readout of settings and time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very loud and leaves clothes damp I wish I could return this dryer, but we have had it for too long now. It has two serious problems that make it almost unusable: it is very loud and its automatic settings leave clothes damp. The specifications for this dryer here on the Sears website indicate that the "Sound reduction system" is "Best", however this is very inaccurate. This dryer produces a loud whirring/roaring sound when running that is about as loud as an average conversation in the room that it is installed in. It is a very annoying sound and as a result we always close the doors to our laundry room when it is running. However this is often not enough, so we usually close other doors between us and our laundry room. It also produces a lot of noise out the exhaust pipe, so the whirring/roaring can be heard throughout much of our large yard and our neighbour's yard. As a comparison, our old dryer (which was about 20 years old) was practically silent. Even with the laundry room doors open, we could barely hear it in the next room. I wish we would have kept it. This dryer's other major problem is that its automatic settings keep clothes damp. It uses a moisture sensor in the drum, and you can select your desired dryness level. There is Damp, Low, Normal, High, and Max. The Normal level keeps clothes so damp that they are uncomfortable to wear. The High level dries them a bit more, but they are still sometimes uncomfortably damp when wearing. Even the Max level keeps clothes noticeably damp -- not uncomfortable to wear, but I wouldn't want to store them in a drawer long-term if they are that damp. I have not tried the Low or Damp dryness levels, but I imagine they do virtually nothing. As a result of this, we no longer use any of the automatic settings. We simply use the manual settings to adjust the drying temperature and time, based on approximately how much drying we estimate will be needed. We have not tried the steam feature of this dryer, so I cannot comment on it. As a result of these 2 major problems, I would not recommend this dryer to anyone. There are much quieter dryers out there, and considering that the automatic settings on this dryer are useless you may as well just get a dryer with only manual controls, which will be much cheaper.
