Working very well for 3 years

Just completed our third year with this humidifier. It works very well in Montreal, but when it's really cold, it has to be filled more than once a day. The effort is worth it for no chapped lips and fewer sinus problems. We havent had the problems mentioned in other reviews, but frankly, I'd probably be willing to buy a new one each year. It works that well.

I would not call it quiet, but it's not bad. It's bulky, but the base and the mechanical separate and can be moved easily in two pieces, twice a year, when it moves to and from it's summer home in the basement.

Changing the filter is pretty easy, but when we went to Sears, some guy quickly pointed out the wrong one and walked off. We were careful about matching the numbers and got the right one, so be careful on that issue. Replacement time: 10-15 minutes. Frequency: once a year.

Humidifies 1860 sq ft. house!

I'm pleased with the bottom line: humidifies the house. Since we heat mainly with a wood stove, the humidifer works a bit harder because it is a dry heat. This means we need to refill it more often but it is a minor inconvenience. The unit is situated in our loft, next to our sleeping area: noise from fan is minor. Would buy again.

I agree totally with other reviews. It works for 1-2 years max even with careful maintenance. It is a lemon and should not be purchased.

run run away from this product save your money

My wife and I have bought 3 of these humidifiers from sears ove the last two years.
Go figure why sears has zero customer comments from this product.
Sorry to say that this humidifier is a lemon. It works good for a year then just stops and the digital display stops working.
We would go to sears to buy another unit, three in total, guess what! the same problem occurs a year later. Man we feel so let down from this product that we hope you don't waste your money....run.....run away with your money in hand.

Pros:Â workd for 1 year only

Cons:Â Bulky

Does this humidifier have a reservoir that is filled using a bucket, or does it have removable canisters? If it has canisters, do they have a 'fill' hole or is it filled by removing the bottom plug?

This humidifier has two water bottles that are located under the pivoting lid. Each water bottle is designed with an "E-Z-Fill Side-Cap" that is easily removable.

What type of replacement filters needed

I have the Kenmore MD Digital 53L console humidifier that I purchased about two years ago, I understand the type of replacement filters have changed from the number quoted in my user manual, could you let me know what type of replacement filters are now available for this model.

Also this humidifier has a dry out mode, should the lever at the back of the humidifier be up or down during this process.

Replacement filters for this unit

For the past 3 years have always bought the recommended filters, #42-29963 for this 53L model #286140C.

While at the Sears Warehouse in Winnipeg recently, the clerk claims there is a new product to replace the previous filters: "Best Air: Humidi-WICK ES12". And while it does include the four separate filters needed to operate, I'm having trouble making these new filters fit.

Are you able to confirm for me what filter should be purchased? Thanks,
