Hello BruceJ,
Our buyers have indicated that we do not offer any humidifiers with permanent, washable wicks/filters.
Our humidifier wicks are made of a special paper material; this material holds up to wetness very well, in a âwickingâ application.
It is ok to remove the wick from the unit and rinse under running tap water; however, if a wick has ceased to operate as intended, it is unlikely that household cleaning will make much difference.
Although we have not officially experimented with âcleaningâ the wicks, reportedly home owners have done light cleaning by placing the wick in water and white vinegar for a few minutes. The mixture probably should be approximately 5 parts water (no less) to 1 part vinegar.
The best suggestion, however, is simply to replace the wick when it ceases to absorb water for effective evaporation.
Thanks for shopping Sears.
