Don't expect it to last long...

Worked great for a year and a half and then the powerhead died. Not acceptable for a vacuum in this price range, my apartment is only 1200 sq feet so it's not like it was over used. My sister also had this problem with her vacuum.

Excellent product

I've had this vac for 4 yrs and would recommend it to everyone. I have 3 pets in my home and take it each fall to our hunting lodge for a 6 wks each yr. This vac gets a workout.

Pros:Â Well constructed, Comfortable, Stylish

The power mate jr was a great machine but it died within the first year, the main power head only lasted 4 years (and we have mostly floor not rug so not used that much) and the whole machine has died twice and my husband had to revive it, not sure how long its gonna last but he refuses to fix it again or buy another one like it

I have had this vacuum for a little more than 2 years. And it has been one thing breaking after another. Both 'wheels' on the power head broke off. The metal 'arm' or 'wand' also broke in half, rendering the power head unusable.
I will never buy another Kenmore product.
I will buy a Dyson vacuum next time.

Good for the $$$

Works well! If your looking for a basic vacuum to do the job you should have a look at this one.For fit and finish I would give it 9/10. Some of the smaller plastic parts are a little flimsy.But over all a nice machine!

Since you have already checked and found that it is not a full bag, then you will want to check for a clog that might be blocking airflow. Disconnect the handle from the wand. When the vacuum is running is there strong airflow at the handle opening? If not, there may be a clog in the hose. You can disconnect the hose from the canister base and check inside both ends to see if there is a clog. It may be further inside the hose. If the hose has good airflow, the clog might also be within the nozzle, which you should be able to see when you disonnect the wand (or turn the nozzle over and check underneath for any obtructions).

Vacuum Exhaust has Odour

I have changed the both filters on my vacuum and the exhaust still has an odour. The bag is new and I buy the cloth bags. What could be the problem?
