These are cute, comfy and warm, but the sizing is a bit deceptive. I bought them for my 2 year old, and ended up having to give them to my 4mth old. I would not recommend them for walking around on hard surfaces either, it's more of a slipper like thing....like getting to and from the car! Not meant for playing around in or anything.

Pros:Â Comfortable, Cute

Cons:Â Incorrect sizing

not sure about these

my little one is 11 months and just learning to walk but we live in the Rockies and needed boots for her. these ones are great in theory but i am not sure i like them for two reasons: 1) they are not very thick, so i worry that i can tighten the drawstring around her ankle too tight and hurt her or cut off circulation.
2) the bottom is nice and cushy which i thought was great at first, but when standing her foot tends to kind of slide off the bottom so they are a tripping hazard.
That being said, they are a lot more affordable than the designer version... i guess you get what you pay for!

They are the real deal....super cute and comfy! You can wear them outside, but I would not recommend them for running outside all day, or on wet slushy type days. It would be better to get a boot with a sole. They would not fit as a boot cover, and be careful with the sizing. I bought the size 5 for my 2yr old son (because they say boots for toddlers), but gave them to my 4mth old daughter instead. They are more for babies, so buy bigger if you buy at all.

Hi Matillie,

Here's the answer from our children's footwear buyer:
These boots are fleece lined and have a leather bottom, sort of like a pre-walk sized shoe. They are made of waterproof nylon, so a child could go in the snow, but they do not have a weather rating.
Typically, these are intended for infants and would go over socks or other pre-walk shoes.

I ordered the size 5 or 6 (can't remember) for my 2 yr old (boy), and ended up giving them to my 4mth old (girl). That size would likely be good. The sizing is a bit inaccurate, but they are super cute and warm! Hope that helps. They are not meant for toddlers really, but more so babies.

Boots for a walking 1yr old

I am having a difficult time finding boots for my 1 year old who is close to walking. I want something she is able to walk outside in since daycare takes her outside. It doesn't sound like these are suitable for that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I would not recommend them for playing around outside once your baby is fully walking. I think they would be ok if he/she is just sitting and crawling around, quite comfortable actually. Even for a bit of walking, they might be great. My lil guy had a really hard time in boots his first winter, and he was already walking for awhile. The hard sole is tough for them, so this soft sole might be your answer. I wish I knew about these then. Just wear warm socks on cold days. They just might not be overly great for walking around a lot on uneven surfaces and on a cold ground once the walking gets better. They will likely wear out, and although they recommend barefoot to build strength in the foot, the foot is not getting the support it needs while outside. Up to you....mommy's know best, trust your instinct!
