The Non-Stick Coating is pealing off

I bought this machine about a year ago. I have not being using often. One day I noticed that the non-stick coating of the pan appeared "bruised". After a closer attention, I noticed it was pealing off. I contacted Hamilton Beach customer service and she straight said, the pealing off was due to my in appropriate care of the pan.This sounded like a hammer. I have had other non-electric skillets but have never "abused" them so why would I pick on this? After this she said it out of warranty. In the packet it is supposed to come with a 5 year warranty, so 2010 and now we have 2011 it can't be five! I would not recommend this

Pros:Â Easy to clean, Attractive design

Cons:Â non stick peals off, poor customer service

Hamilton Beach Electric Skillet

I have used this appliance once so far. Everything worked well. I wish the skillet lid could sit on the back of the skillet... now I have to find a spot on the counter to place the lid when not in use.

U suspect it is Teflon. Please read my review. This Teflon peals off after use. Mine is hardly a year old and I have not been using it very frequently as I have a steamer and slow cooker as well.
