too heavy, too hot

I was very excited to try a new duvet for a new bed but this one wasnt for us. I am used to a down duvet and we tried this one out when our temps were -25 degrees and we were still too hot! and it is very heavy compared to the down duvets. If you like the feel of heavy comforters than you may like this one!

Very, very warm and comfortable, great for our cold winters in the prairies.

I just switched from goose down and would never go back. I love that the duvet always has lots of loft that stays put, you never have to fluff it up.

This is a great product if you like to be warm and feel the weight of your covers on you.

Pros:Â Attractive, Comfortable, Soft, very warm, easy care, great value

We have always had down or down plus feather filled duvets, but I was tired of not being able to launder them, thus we purchased gel filled fibre duvet per recommendation of our son. It feels very nice and lofty and conforms to your body, you dont have the "ducky" smell that you have with down. I think it breathes well, and is definitely warm enough in winter as we keep our house at 63degrees, as for summer use without the air conditioning on a few nights I have to throw it down slightly (but I am age 50 and going through menopause so I get very warm sometimes) In short I would recommend the gel fibre duvet over the down or goose feather duvets. Good luck!! Hope this helps. Oh, one more bit of advice, make sure you get the "gel fibre" duvet and not the straight polyester filled, friends have purchased the polyester filled ones and hated them , they wash terribly, and dont have the same feel as the gel.

I was wondering what the exact dimensions are of the double/queen duvet and the king size duvet.
I was just wondering about the specifics because I have a queen bed and a queen duvet cover and the double/queen sizes tend to be more square in shape and don't have an ideal fit for anything purely "queen" in size.

I see that the duvet is 92 oz. fill. I have a 38 oz fill goose down duvet and it is way too warm for me. Is there a difference in fill weight between a Gel and a down duvet. Sounds high to me. I need something mid to low weight as I am a warm sleeper.
