Looks good on deck

It's easy to put together and is attractive even without the cover on it. But fails if you use the cover on a breezy day. Just blows all over the place. I think I can fix this isssue by sewing on tie downs. Seems like a lot of money for something you have to fix.

Pros:Â Easy assembly, Attractive design, Weather resistant

Cons:Â cover won't stay on

It is so classic looking. I was worried about the 'fly away' reports listed, but all I did was thread the cover back through the cross brace, which is about a 2" differential from the last top rung. Looks like it was actually made for that purpose since the other sides don't have it. Simple - and stays in place without damaging the fabric. I would definitely take down if it is supposed to rain though. I like that you can leave the cover off if it isn't super hot, and it looks so great. Have had lots of compliments.

Pros:Â Easy assembly, Attractive design

Cons:Â need two people for last assembly stage.

I purchased this pergola about four months ago. It was very easy to assemble and looks great.Apparently it is meant more for sun protection than rain. As with the previous review the top fills up with water fairly rapidly and stretches the fabric. We finally removed the cover and just put it on when we need the shade.

Pros:Â Easy assembly, Attractive design

Indoor use only!

Fabric top isn't anchored in anyway. It has broom poles that slide into the ends and that provides just enough weight to keep the fabric taught. The slightest breeze will flip it up and off and don't even think about rain! I drilled holes in the posts and attached hidden tethers which hold it securely. It fills up with rain BIG TIME, but we just take a broom and push the water along from underneath to empty it. Pretty much useless as it comes out of the box.

We want to put this Pergola on our deck and want to secure it to the deck by screwing the base of the posts into the deck.. Can you tell me if it has pre-drilled holes that will allow for this or a wide enough post leg bottom to do this.. Thanks in advance for your reply..

Hello,

The pergola does not come with pre-drilled holes to secure it to a deck. With that being said, the base of the pergola legs do protrude, which could technically allow it to be screwed down.

Sun Shade Blows Off with Slightest Wind - no way to tether it - called company regarding this (no solution other than altering the design by adding ties & grommets?!?!?) - this is a lot of work & may not prove to be satisfactory! Have noticed other models have ties on them & some have rods through the top of them as well - this would weight them down. This is a poor design?!?! This is an expensive item and at the moment the sun shade is useless. What can Sears do to make this satisfactory?!?
