Thought it would last longer

I purchased this unit about 2 years ago and have now just purchased another elliptical through Sears to replace this one as it is worn out. Just days after the warranty was up, a part under the pedal split and the metal was weak so my husband had it welded. That was the first of 3 different welds on the underside of the pedals and it sounds like it is going to go again so I've ordered another one, a different model this time, am hoping it lasts longer. I used my elliptical nearly every day, so I got good use out of it but was not expecting to have this many problems with it or to have it wear out completely.

Seems excellent... but it's the first day:S

Cons:
- took 5 hours to put together
- a lot of pieces, but all ellipticals will have this problem (other than $200 ones)
- will take a couple weeks (Sears does not stock most large fitness equipment)

Pros:
- seems very solid and smooth (if put together properly)
- all parts as described and fit (for the most part)
- good basic programs

Overall, I see great value in this. I'll let everyone know if it breaks down on me! I probably wouldn't recommend this for anyone > 215 lbs.

I was so excited to get this elliptial, I had wanted one for ages and finally saved up enough money for what i thought was a high-quality machine that would last me a long time. After i put it together, immediately it did not work properly, after some emails and phone calls i finally got someone in to fix the problem (weeks later), 5 months later i have the same problem again, now i'm waiting to see what sears can do to fix it this time. All in all i loved the elliptical when it was working properly, but now i'm wishing i saved even more money and spent it somewhere else on a more reliable machine.

This product is hard to get together as most of the pieces don't match - you wait ages to get replacement parts from the manufacturer (who express post it) - there were 2 different types of washers missing which I purchased and now the console doesn't work - after 2 sets of batteries - plus at this price you would think a plug in option would come with it but you actually have to order that seperately and pay for it - now its together - its not a very good product - I would not recommend this to anyone.

We bought this last fall and now notice the Resistance has become a lot harder!
Even Program 1 makes it difficult to turn the Flywheel, any ideas? And if it needs service who do we call?
