These ski/snow pants are lightweight yet waterproof & breathable. I usually wear size 4 so the "small"are roomy on me but are easily adjusted via the velcro tabs on the waistline. Actually, I'm not sure I'd like them to fit any tighter as I purchased them for skiing so want some room to move. I'd say that the fit is exactly as advertised so "small" would fit 6 - 8 perfectly. There are 2 good sized zippered pockets on each side & 2 zippered vents on each leg. No zippers or openings on the leg bottoms but they're made really roomy so they'll easily fit over boots. They also have a storm cuff. I haven't worn them skiing yet, but I would highly recommend these pants in view of the fit and quality.
