Just what I needed!

I researched some baby gates for our new puppy that needed to go at the top of our stairs. I wanted something attractive and safe. This product met all of our needs and came just in time for our move to the new house!

Does the Job

The gate went in ok outside of one hitch. We have wide, raised baseboard. We had to add a 3/4" piece of wood to the wall to bring the gate out to be level with the baseboards. Ended up with more holes in the wall than we anticipated, but other than that it works great.

Pros:Â Sturdy, Easy setup

For our "babies". Swings in or out easily, latch is easy to use one handed. You can set the gate to move in just one direction if desired. No sharp corners or anything you can catch on to. Lightweight but sturdy. Highly recommend this product.

Wooden Stairway Gate

Can this gate be easily detached from the brackets holding it to the wall or door jam? Does it slide out?

Yes. The fittings are bolted to the wall, but the gate itself can slide in or out of the holding brackets. Mind you we've never tried, or had to, and you might need a rubber mallet to gently persuade it to go :)

It's meant to be a snug fit, but not permanent.
