Great Product, Bad Instructions!

Thanks to Chris710's review, I saved myself a trip back to Sears for a return. Thinking this was a spring tension rod, I pulled it too far, frustratingly, could NOT push it back in, and thought this was just a cheap piece of junk.

The internet is a wondeful thing, and this review is more for thanking Chris than the actual product......

Which, btw, is a great idea, holds up very nicely, (better than a spring rod) & easy to install (after you realize what your dealing with....Just remember: THERE ARE NO SPRINGS IN THESE RODS. THEY STAY IN PLACE BY FRICTION, SO DO NOT PULL THEM TOO FAR!
If you do, just follow the advice given in Chris's review (like I did) and all will be good, and looking good as well.

This double rod is an excellant idea, as I used 2 tension rods, I have always struggled to get them put up the same height etc. This makes is so much easier and less frustrating.

Easy to install when you have better instructions

This is a good product when you have full instructions on installing. I did NOT screw it to the wall. It is a one person job if you have THE RIGHT INSTRUCTIONS. If you over extend the bars, can't push back down. NO WORRY. NO SPRINGS involved. Pull the smaller bar ALL the way out and unscrew the bolt from the end. Remove the black cap off the end of the large rod and replace the bolt into the large rod, the same way it came out. Replace the smaller rod into the large rod and tighten until it will not twist anymore and start all over again. Pull rod out until you are about 1/2" away from wall or holder, then hold large rod and untwist smaller rod the rest of the way to tighten to the wall, enough to hold it there. Do the same for the second rod. When both rods are in place. then fully tighten both rods.

This rod fits my needs perfectly by providing extra hanging space for towels. It is a little tricky to get the bars the right width for tension support. I would recommend screwing the supports in for better tension.

Also, when adjusting the width, insert the smaller rod into the largerone and carefully adjust the width. If you pull out too far you cannot push or screw the smaller rod back in to adjust.

Pros:Â Durable, Attractive design, Funtional

Cons:Â moderate difficulty to install
