Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product Rating Good day, We purchased a Deloughi 30 Pint Dehumidifier back in November and we are very pleased with the purchase. It is doing the job that we want it to do. Had no trouble with it yet. Thanks Frances Ralph

Rated 4 out of 5 by from J'aime bien l'allure de ce déshumidificateur moderne. Pas trop compliquer et fonctionne aussi bien manuellement qu'à la minuterie. Seul petit bémol; un peu bruyant...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet, easy to operate, work well I purchase this unit to replace and old and noisy one. Very quiet, and appear to be working well. The only complaint so far is that the fitting in the back to connect a hose is the wrong size for a garden hose. I can't understand why they can't make item a standard size. I connected a garden hose and assumed it was properly connect came back to find a large puddle of water. I had to finally gerry rig the garden hose with the hose that came with the unit. The set up is not very visually appealling and look like an amateur put it together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delonghi 30 pint dehumidifier We bought 2 of these humidifiers, one for downstairs & one for upstairs. We chose them over others that were available because of the pump feature & because we had read that they were quieter than most. We were completely satisfied by both features. The pump feature will even pump the water up if you don't have a floor drain as was the case for us & the units aren't any more noisy than a fan running on high would be. We typical don't run ours at night because we like to open our windows at night & that would be defeating the purpose! The only down side is that it does exhaust enough heat to heat the spot in the room where it is running to a higher temp than the rest of the room.

Emptying With Hose

I am looking to buy this unit for my Father who is in a wheelchair. He would like to be able to empty the unit himself with the hose. I see the hose attaches from the bottom of the unit, so would he be able to leave the hose attached to the unit all the time, even when it is on and working? Also, does the top of the hose have a easy to use release spout?
Asked by: Ryan1979
Hello Ryan1979, The hose of the DeLonghi 30 Pint Dehumidifier can be left attached even if it is working/turn on. The hose is easy to use too. Thank you for shopping at Sears. Have a great day!

How long is the thin tubing that allows you to pump the water up & out of the window? Also, could you use that & drill a hole through the wall so that it empties into the sump pump hole in the next room?

Asked by: Sharon8888
Hi Sharon8888, Thank you for taking the time to contact Sears. It is 16 feet long. On the other hand, we cannot advise one way or another about drilling a hole in the wall as we don’t have that expertise. You need to check with a builder or electrician to make sure it’s safe where you want to drill. Have a great day!

Do any of the three operating modes turn it off upon reaching the desired humidity level?

Hello, While the unit has three modes of operation, do any of them actually turn off the unit upon reaching a desired level of humidity?
Asked by: Jimmy1234
the Sears associate answer contradicts the answer to the question above of does it shut off. One says yes both will at desired humidity and the other says fan continues, compressor doesn't.

Comparing DeLonghi 30 pt with KenmoreMD 25pt unit

Which is more energy efficient. The Kenmore seams to run on lower Wattage but does not appear to have energy star rating. Also is the deLonghi more quiet than the Kenmore?
Asked by: JS007
Hello JS007, The DeLonghi 30 Pint Dehumidifier and Kenmore®/MD 25 Pint Dehumidifier are both Energy Star rated. Both also come equipped with multiple fan speed settings to help adjust and control noise output. The noise level minimum-maximum for the DeLonghi 30 Pint Dehumidifier is 51-53 decibels, while the Kenmore®/MD 25 Pint Dehumidifier is 58.1 dBA. Thank you for choosing Sears and have a great day!

Description is not clear

I can only assume by the one bullet description and by the questions about the pump that this unit, does in fact, have a pump. If that is the case, why is the product description so vague in mentioning the pump? It has: -Water removal option: manual empty bucket, gravity drain and then: -Bucketless (pump) Shouldn't these be on the same line ie: three methods of water removal? I only ask because I don't want any surprises and find out the unit does not have a pump. Am I correct that if the pump fails or becomes blocked, that this unit will overflow into the regular bucket just like the Kenmore pump models do? Is this the replacement to the Kenmore pump dehumidifier? Thanks.
Asked by: Lovetopullo
We just installed 2 of these units & they do have pumps which seem to be very efficient. We haven't got a convenient floor drain to go to so we drilled a small hole for the hose thru the wall to the outside for the one upstairs & fed the hose for the downstairs one up to the main floor & out thru the dryer vent. It comes with 16' of hose to make this possible & it doesn't seem to have any problems pumping the water up!

Must use hose?

I'm confused. I want a dehumidifier for a small bedroom. I don't want to run a long hose down the hall to a bathroom, or out a window, to drain. I just want it to fill the bucket with water, which I'm happy to empty manually, and to shut itself off if it starts to overfill before I catch it. Like the way portable air-conditioners work. Is that possible with this model?
Asked by: Jnoa
We have not used the manual option to empty ours, but it appears that it would be simple to do as the bucket is removable from the front of the dehumidifier.
