Much Nicer Than Previous Coffeemakers

Simple to operate, yet has added features such as the 1-4 cup option. The carafe POURS CLEANLY!! A big plus as the others tended to make a mess when pouring water into the coffeemaker itself and also coffee into the mug. Looks great on the counter too.

Hot Coffee! But Drawbacks

This coffee maker makes a nice hot cup of coffee and is good to look at but there are drawbacks to the design. You really cannot pour all the water into the machine as the design will not permit it. The cord on the back is short and with kitchen drawers on the top of your kitchen counter it makes it awkward to use. You must pour your coffee into the cone while it is in the machine and if you have shaky hands that can be a problem.

Makes Great Coffee. Never mind the 3 Year Warranty

I bought this machine 2 years ago from Sears, and it worked great till this morning, when the reservoir emptied through the base of the machine. I still have a warranty but when I investigated how to go about getting it fixed I found out that the Service Center is in Woodbridge, Ontario, and that my machine would need to be shipped over there at my own cost from British Columbia. I looked into it, and depending on the shipping options, plus the cost of insuring it, I don't think that this is a viable option.

So why would I rate it 5 Stars? Well, I have had many coffee makers in the past and from experience I usually got what I paid for. In my case only one lasted more than two years. This was the first machine I purchased in this price range and I do not regret the purchase. The coffee maker makes the difference, temperature and taste wise. This coffee maker did make and keep the coffee hot (hotter than the others I have previously owned).

I have used practically every feature this machine has to offer, including the 4 cup brew feature, and I have to say they really worked.

If you are looking for a better than average programmable coffee maker with a water filter feature, I would recommend this one. If you don't live in Ontario, you may have to forget about the three year warranty.

excellent hot cup of coffee

This Cuisinart model guarantees a hot, perfect cup of brew. The 1-4 cup option works well producing a hot, well-flavoured coffee. Using the timer feature saves us time by being able to prepare the coffee the night before so that we can wake up to the wonderful coffee aroma in the morning!! This machine is well worth the investment and will last for years to come!!

Worth the Extra $$

This coffee maker was above my usual "price point", but I was looking for a really good cup of coffee, and decided to see what Cuisinart had to offer. It makes the best home brewed coffee I have experienced. Maybe it's the water-filtering system! It is fast, and has a special feature for 1-4 cups so that the brew quality is the same as for a full pot. Quick, keeps coffee nice and hot, and beeps when ready. I like it a lot. Bought it for the cottage, but couldn't bear to leave it there and brought it home for the winter. Only quibble (as a lefty myself) is that it is a bit awkward to pour the water into the brewing chamber with your left hand. Otherwise - five stars!
