This classic recreation of a 20's style Turkish phone blends European design with American ingenuity. Constructed of solid hardwoods and veneers, the Sultan Phone features a hand rubbed cherry finish with nickel chrome plated hardware and comes complete with a 44" cloth cord. The rotary dial is in keeping with the original design but goes a step further by incorporating push button technology for convenience.

Not working

Ordered this phone and received it with Sear's fast shipping. Love the appearance so much - the cherry colored wooden case and handle. However, after plugging in and making a test call, we found that the other side couldn't hear voice received by this phone's receiver. So disappointed. Had to return it. Still missing the good-looking appearance matching our decor but it's a pity that the workmanship of the electronical parts is poor.

Cons:Â unreliable

Ruined by the bell

What a grave disappointment to plug this phone in for the first time, and phone it to listen to it ring. The phone, by the way, looks great, as seen in the photos here. It really looks good, especially in the antique setting I had in mind for it at home. However, its ring tone seems almost like a poor taste joke. Remember those really annoying 1990's cell phone rings? that's exactly what it sounds like. If someone buys a phone that is supposed to look like an antique, wouldn't it be safe to assume that the buyer would also expect an antique ring sound to go with it? I was hoping for the bell to actually work mechanically, but would have settled for an old telephone sounding ring tone. I would have given this phone 4 stars, but cannot accept such a thoughtless oversight on the part of the manufacturers. I have since turned the ringer off!

Cons:Â hideous ringtone
