second year of operation and still preforms well. One problem is that it picked up part of some broken flagstone and tossed it through the lower section of the rotation chute ( being plastic ) Duct taped for time being to stop blowing snow out hole. Was looking for parts when I decided to review.

Good and Bad

I've had mine for just over two years, used about 10x per year. Last November, it did a great job on a 30 cm dump, I haven't had to use it until the other night (early February). It started on the first pull (I don't use the electric start...hasn't been necessary at all). This was the first use after the warranty expired...and you guessed it...it broke down. The auger axle housing just up and broke. The shear pins are fine...something else happened. The repair man hasn't seen it yet so I don't know what the bill will be. But that's a lot of cash to put out for something which breaks down right after the warranty expires. Hopefully, it'll be something minor.

The only other quibble is the light...it should be mounted in front of the chute...in some chute positions, the light really lights up the chute, not the driveway.

When it's working, it works well. Not for petite people though, you should be average strength to handle it.

Starter Cord Wont Recoil

I used the snow blower about 3 times last year and 2 times this year and the last time I didnt quite pull the starter cord with enough force or all the way out far enough to start it. Now the cord wont recoil. There doesnt seem to bay any help on line for this.

Pros:Â Good quality

Cons:Â flaky pull cord

I have used this twice since I bought it. Once on light snow which was no problem obviously and once on wet snow which I had neglected for several days. Cleared the wet snow, did not have to stop once. Great job, breezed right through the icy mess the plow left as well.

One difference I noticed immeadiately is this mahine is a 24" path while the $100 more machine is a 30" clearing path. And perhaps color may have something to do with it as well?

Depends which model it is you're comparing.
The other could have power steering, a light, stronger motor.
I'm not sure which other one you're comparing it to as there are a few different 24" models, but there are probably more features on the more expensive one.

Will 9.0 ft.lbs torque enough to remove the heavy plow buildup at end of driveway?

My biggest concern is if this blower (with 9 ft.lbs torque) can throw heavy snow plowed at the end of driveway, like the heavy snow last winter in Toronto area. I would appreciate the comments from anyone who have used it to remove the end of driveway.

I don't own this unit, but plan on purchasing it. I looked at it at the outlet, and yes it does have the remote chute deflection mounted on the control panel, which controls the chute's left to right movement!
