I bought this and it was the easiest thing setting it up. Unbelievable. My other choice was to purchase an entire new garage door opener and pay to have it installed. This conversion kit solved the problem. My present garage door opener is 23 years old and works perfectly....the hand remote no longer worked. Setting up this conversion kit solved the problem. Worth every penny!!!!!!

I have 3 garage doors in my garage with the old Sears door openers.They have the trasmitter type remotes and 2 of them quit working.I thought I would have to buy new door openers.I phoned Sears and they sent me the right models for my old door openers.I couldn,t beleive how good they work,it's like new door openers.You just tough the botton and up comes the door,from the road,not in front of the door.The old one's you had to hold and wave it around and hope it worked.I'm so happy with them that I ordered another one for the third door and a keyless entry pad.I still can't beleive how great they work,happy,happy happy.

My remote control has stopped working even with a new battery. It has blue buttons and I have no clue as to how old the drive is (atleast 5yrs as much as 25 yrs) How do I tell which model to buy? Does setting the code require me to access the drive unit?

Old remote compatibilty

Hi,

If you have an old remote that still works and just need to replace one - will this unit once installed allow for the other old remote to still function as normal? I know the idea is for the newer remote to send the signal to the new external receiver, but can the old remote still have a signal sent to the built in receiver in the motor?
