Bought mine May 2006, used it many many times , for cutting at least 30 laminate floors projects and even cut 2" stock for making a curves for arches on Pergola. Love the scrolling feature, makes cuts effortless. Almost 5 years now lent it to many people and still preforms today. If this ever breaks down I will definitely buy another, it has paided for itself many times over.

I have used this saw for over 3 years and recommend it highly. It is a large jig saw, but very versitile. It has many settings and depending on what you are cutting you can set it to cut quickly or slowly for fine work. It cuts straight when used with a guide.
It has lots of power when I am doing scroll work on 2x8's while building pergolas.
Most users will never wear this tool out.

this jigsaw is big and bulky but it WILL NOT cut straight. have had the saw for two years and used it occasionally. it will not cut square. useless. it is a paperweight. it is poorly designed not a typical craftsman tool. DO NOT Buy this

craftsman cases are horrible

The saw is awesome when you get used to the size. It has great power and I use it weekly at work and have had it for over two years. The only problem is ...once again, the craftsman case. No matter what I by, drill (2),Jig, bit sets (2), all of the cases break. The latches came right off my bit set the first time I opened it and the Jigsaw case is the worst. It's latches never have done up properly and one broke off within a couple of months when I did try to close it. Sears wants you to return your tool or bits with the case or to by another case seperately.

Pros:Â Powerful

Cons:Â case is horrible

Saw has many good features. Unfortunately, no matter what I did, it would cut off line. I would niether follow the lazer or the mechanical guide. I tried turning the scroll 180 degrees but that didn't help.
