Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a smooth operator!! this saw was bought to replace my first table saw which finally gave up the ghost after many years of service. this saw is so smooth and quiet compared to my old one that when I first turned it on I could not believe the difference. Cuts are always clean and smooth. I especially love the table extensions, they are easy to adjust and stay where you set them. The sawdust bag is also a huge plus! For home projects and larger this is a must have table-saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Table saw for a hoobyist I have used this saw now for light duty over the past few weeks. It has lots of power, no trouble cutting into a 4x4. I am not thrilled about the rip fence and table extenders, not sure what the other manufacturers do to ensure they are parallel, but I have already bent my saw blade due to a cut not lining up perfectly parallel with the saw, it started pushing on the side of the blade midway through a cut. Regardless, I bought it on sale and am happy with the quality for price paid, I will just have to be more careful and double check anytime I adjust anything (once I replace the saw blade).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another 33 years Great saw, Great value! My new 10" Craftsman table saw works great. It rips, dados and everything else I need it to do. On top of that its rip fence is spot on. After 33 years my 9" craftsman finally gave up the ghost. (My Dad bought it for me as a first home gift. Now did he get it right or what!) It rebuilt 2 houses and numerous other projects without a problem. So I replaced the old craftsman table saw with another craftsman table saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price (on sale) Excellent for the price Bought this on sale online. Combined this with my Sears points worth plus a 10% off online coupon that I found. Would I buy this saw full price? Probably not, Sears is always having sales or giving discount coupons. You just have to wait for them. They'll eventually come. Assembly of the product is not too difficult, just leave yourself time to do it. Don't rush through it. Have not used the saw for any major projects yet but have been cutting the odd piece of lumber without any problems. I know there are better saws out there but for a DIY it's perfect for your home reno's

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recommendation with caveat. I would recommend this table saw to a friend if it came without a blade and it was $50.00 cheaper because of it. My wife bought me this saw for my birthday. So on the weekend after my birthday, I asked my friend from next door who happens to be somewhat of an carpenter and builder, to come over and help me put the saw together. After about 90 minutes and little grief, the saw was assembled and ready to take for a test drive. My friend grabbed a 2 foot length of 2x4 and tried to cut it length ways. The piece of wood had trouble moving through the saw smoothly. My friend checked everything he could think of that might be causing the problem, except for the blade itself. So he ran his finger on the blade and determined that the blade was damaged. He said that surely the blade could not be damaged by one pass of wood. So I went to the store and picked up 2 blades. One really cheap one in case we assembled the unit incorrectly and one to go on if the cheap one worked. Voila. The cheap one worked. I proceeded to work the rest of the day making a couple of tables for the deck. As my friend says, be prepared to swap out the blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I am a hobbyist who was looking for a decent saw to handle small to medium sized jobs with the potential to handle minor to medium home renovations. This saw is ideal. Everything I was looking for and more. It has a sturdy base, with wheels so it is fairly portable within the garage. Plus, the saw can detatch from the legs to provide more maneuverability. The extended supports will handle a 4'x8' sheet I researched other 'portable' saws such as Ridgid and Dewalt and this saw was the better of the lot and for a much better price. The fence was more stable, square and rigid than either the Dewalt or Ridgid saws and certainly better quality than Mastercraft. Easy to set up. Had it running within an 90min of purchase. I would have preferred aluminum base, as opposed to the plastic, but so far no concerns about stability or robustness. An earlier review mentioned a concern about Dado blade housing but about every saw I've encountered had to have a custom support cut for a Dado blade.

riving knife

does the riving knife move with the saw blade?
Asked by: windrider1
Yes. The riving blade is attached to the blade housing. The riving blade can be adjusted reletive to the blade as well. So the riving blade can have an 1/8" clearance of the blade or 1/2" clearance of the blade but either way will raise and lower with the blade.
