I purchased a rototiller from sears and am very satisfied with it. I used it several times now and it works great. It holds up to the rugged ground up here in Northern Ontario. I saved $150.00 just waiting for the sale to come in and I do not regret it.

This is the 3rd rotor tiller we've bought from Sears. the first one lasted a long time and we wore it out. The last one was a more expensive one but a pure waste of money and didn't even last the season. The part that broke was made of plastic of all things and I swore I would never buy another from Sears. However I did and so far this one is performing up to and beyond my expectations. If it lasts then I will be very pleased. Iif it doesn't this is definitely the last time I buy a Sears tiller.

As I said, we just bought it, but I filled the oil and gas, and it started first pull. Nice little unit.

Our buyer has advised that all tiller engines are 4 cycle.

Tilling depth is normally about 4-6". This unit has 12" tines, however, it is not a heavy duty unit. Depending on soil conditions, it could get down to 6" with no issue, however, if you are tilling the soil for the first time that has not be tilled before, this unit would not be suitable. You should move to a rear tine tiller.

proper Oil level

I have a craftsman 208 series 6 hp front tine tiller.
there is a vert. inlet (top of crank case/gear box) for oil approx. 6" above inlet at 45 degrees towards bottom of crank case/gear box. On some mowers the 45 degree inlet would be filled until oil is at the neck of 45 degee inlet indicating oil level full.
What is the proper amount of oil for tiller please?
