2. Does the warranty include service at my house. This generator would be far too heavy for me to bring back to the Sears store for repair.

The CRAFTSMAN(TM/MC) 5600-Watt Generator comes with a 1 year warranty, parts and labour. The warranty does not include service at your home. The unit must be taken to your closest Sears location.

Our buyers have indicated that we cannot provide that information. You would have to find out how many watts your 1.5 hp compressor motor needs to run and match it up to the generator that provides the wattage that the compressor needs.

Hello suki,

No, there is not an AVR (automatic voltage regulator) on the CRAFTSMANÂ®/MD 5600-watt Generator. On this unit, the bridge rectifier on the brush set would be doing what an AVR would have done, converting the AC voltage output of the excitation windings to DC voltage to be input to the rotor. Brushed alternators that do not have an AVR are inductively regulated.

Hello Spyker,

We do not have a generic number as far as a percentage of voltage variation. The different styles of units would be significantly different so there is no way to do this. This unit being inductively regulated and not having an automatic voltage regulator, it will have a larger voltage variation from no load to full load. This one is 273-220V. However AVR units typically have a lower no load voltage in many cases around 235V so that there is less fluctuation.
