Great Snowblower attachment

Using a Sears 28 HP tractor, wheel weights, rear tractor weights, tire chains and this snowblower turns your tractor into an unbelievable snow removal tool. Yes, this turns your tractor into a front heavy machine but buy the weights/chains and nothing will stop you in the deepest snow. There is only one bad point with it. The chute up/down is not accessible from the seat of the tractor. I purchased the electric chute kit and now I am the envy of the block! Bring on the Saskatchewan Snow!!

Pros:Â robust/strong, perfect fit, powder coated, easy install with common tools, winch raise/lower, easily removed for summer

Cons:Â heavy need weights/chains, no chute control from seat - up/down

Let it snow!!!!!

Put this blower on a Craftsman accelerator GT5000 28HP, with wheel weights , chains and the counter balance weights on the back.
Sometimes I'm amazed at what this rig can do.
I found reading the instruction manual more complicated than the installation itself, but once the sub frame is installed on the tractor the blower only takes minutes to hook up or take off. If your going to buy this blower you will need the weights and chains because it is pretty heavy.
I've had no problems with belts or traction and would certainly recommend this blower when put on a well equipped tractor.

Very well-built snowblower

Got this snowblower 2 years ago. It works very well, it throws the snow about 20 meters far. I didn't go with the 48" because I wanted to be sure my tractor (24HP) wasn't underpowered.

Also getting the weights and tirechains is highly recommended for traction. I also put a full waterjug on top of the weights for extra weight.

I would have gave 5 stars if the manual was more usefull. I'm a pretty handy D-I-Y-er, but this thing takes a rocket scientist. Holes weren't where the manual said they'd be, some steps just aren't in the manual at all.

This thing was a pain to attach to the tractor the first time (mounting the bracket that holds it, + electrical) Thankfully that was only 1 time, now it just snaps on and off you go.

Another thing I had problems with was the plastic bushing that holds the winch in place, it's so close to the exhaust that it melted, which left the winch unusable. This was fixed by Sears under warranty (They fixed it by using a brass bushing, took 7 weeks)

Besides these minor but very annoying glitches, it's an awesome machine which is built in Canada!

I plan on getting the electric chute option next winter.

If the manual could be more clear, it easily would have gotten 5 stars.

Pros:Â Durable, throws snow far, better then a walk-behind

Cons:Â manual lacks usefulness, initial installatio is not very easy

ARE CHAINS AND WEIGHTS REQUIRED?

I am curious to know if my yard machine lawn mower (without the cutting table) is heavy enough to manouvre this blower assembly. I have a slight slope at the street which is about 1.85 meters heigher than the garage level. This slope is on a distance of about 12 meters. (6 Ft. Rise on 40 Ft.)
My question is, even with chains and weights, will I be able to get up that slope? I know I can blow the snow going down hill but will I be able to get to the top the first time?

yes i found the mower was in the way of the pullies, and even if it could stay on it would be in the way because of it's width. the mower cames off in about 15 min. it should came off for maintenance in the fall
