Dont buy this snowblower

I have owned this unit for less than a year. The plastic chute base cracked off, the deflector cable has seized solid, the tires have cracked all over (both), and often it will not move when the drive lever is engaged. It took two weeks to get a new chute. I have had to pay a snow clearing operator to clear my driveway. Not happy, buy a Honda.

Cons:Â Poor quality, Not durable

Great machine, great power

Used the machine 3 to 4 times already. Lots of power in dry and wet snow.

Forward speeds, no issue.

Reverse however is a little slow but I can live with that.

The lever to steer the shout is stiff at time, but a little WD40 does the trick.

Glad I bought it, it's saved so much time

Sprocket Weldment issues

After only using this machine 5-6 times, the sprocket weldment broke. Apparently, the parts manufacturer has a huge back order for replacement sprocket weldments.

Originally had to wait 3 weeks for the replacement part, but on the day they were supposed to replace it I get a call that it would be another 2-3 weeks.

Personally, I was expecting that the chain driven model would have been better than past belt drive models I've owned, obviously not.

Cons:Â Not durable

POOR DRIVE TRAIN

I recently purchased this machine, after aprox 15hrs of use both of the chute direction cables were broken. This I could live with until spring as we continue to get more snow it must be moved.
The drive stoped working at aprox 25hr of use. Without for/rev the machine is useless.
I has good power and moves snow well, but the drive is vary unreliable. I am happy with the price/value that this model offers, but I canot praise it durabilaty as it has been in for service several times now.
I have recomended it to friends, but would not do so after the problems I have had this year.

Pros:Â Lightweight

Cons:Â Poor quality, Not durable

Power to Spare

Recently purchased this model. It has lived up to my expectations, we get a lot of wet snow in November/December and living on a curve we get the Windrow from the plow. This has rescued my back from painstaking process of lifting the heaviest snow away from end of the driveway. I almost look forward to a good dump now!

Torque on snowblower 52065

Q:Â

Hi

I phoned the local store and they said thet the 52025 Craftsman Snowblower 27 in path had a torque of 12.5 olbs not 14.5 as advertised in latest flyer and on web site. Is this correct? Also what does that mean in terms of performance?

I will answer my own question: I did a fairly extensive web search the LCT. It is very well reviewed it replaces the Tecumsheh that went out of business. They have been used as after market engines for awhile now in the USA. The Flyer and web site say 14.5 torque as does the LCT site ... at the door or when you get it delivered it says 12.5 torque - that is wrong.

Torque relates to the amount of power/strength snow it can move. No it does not have hand warmers - buy a good set of mitts!

I just bought one but obviosly have not had use of it here in NB. At $400 off

I have yet to see any of the other larger outlets give a better deal.

Sorry but I have to disagree with John. I had a 30" White (manufactured by MTD) and won a 28" Craftsman in a draw a year ago. I used the 28" last winter and then gave it to my son this last spring. I kept the 30" for myself as I liked it better. It is a 10 horse and the Craftsman was an 8 horse. The Craftsman was an excellent unit but that bit of extra width and power suit me and our winter conditions here in northern Alberta better.

Never buy a 30 inch Snow Blower the twisting and shaking at your end is really harsh when you hit the hard stuff that the Snow Plow leaves at the end of your driveway. A 27 or 28 inch is best ( less work Less Vibration ). Take a look at the 52993 you can't go wrong.

The only real difficulty is the weight. At 200lb and higher it requires two strong people to get the box to the ground.
The blower itself is 95% assembled in the box. You need to cut plastic ty-raps, lift the upper handle into place, install the chute and connect a couple of controls that had to be left disconnected due to the hahdle being out of place.
You can be ready to run in as little as 15 minutes. I was...
NOTE: Don't forget to adjust the skid plates!

Well the control lever would have you think it has several forward speeds but really it has very few and One reverse speed the forward speeds are not that easy to select and the lever to go forward to reverse not easy to use
The wheels are poorly powered and it should come with chains as the tires offer no real grip
