Rated 2 out of 5 by from A good snowblower with poor construction This blower is great for very light duty. Being single stage, it has trouble with wet, or heavy snow. But as long as you take small bites it;s fine for most work. I'm talking walkways ans short driveways. When the temp dropped to -20, the electric cord insulation shattered and the cord shorted out. I replaced this with the male end of an all weather cord. This worked well. Now the output shoot has shattered. Some of these parts were not designed for the Canadian winter. Replacing some of the plastic parts with metal would make this a great little light-duty electric snow-thrower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hunk 'o Junk! Avoid at all costs! I should've listened to everyone that told me to return it back to sears. It really will not last a year. I bought my unit in December of 2010, and it was great for the first month or so. Then I noticed certain issues, like the cotter pin went missing for the chute, the power cord wiring on the unit was coming apart, and you can see the wires inside the cable. I was making do with it, until I started it this past march for a snow, and the auger was rubbing against the plastic chute. My wife told me to turn it off, as the racket was making such a loud noise that my baby couldn't go to sleep. Later that day, I booked for a service call. They came to the house, and told me that they do not work on electric blowers at all, and that I had to return it back to sears. I took it in for warranty service 2 weeks ago, and the repair guy was nice enough to tell me that they do not repair electric blowers at all, and that I had to take it back to sears for an exchange. I'll be getting a refund. Save your time and money. Don't buy this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money We got this snow thrower in late 2010. We used it maybe three times before the thing started to "fall" apart. We have been able to make do until this last time we went to use it and one of the wires to the electric start is now bare and pulled away completely from the plastic casing. I suspect the biggest problem with this item is the fact that it is mostly plastic and simply cannot with stand any cold temperature. Hopefully i will be able to "mickey mouse" the connections back together when the weather warms up. But for the rest of the winter will have to go back to using a shovel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the snow we get! I recently purchased this at a great price. We don't get the snow we used to get so spending 1,000 or more on a large snowblower is a waste. We just had snow and it was excellent. I was so surprised at how easy it was to work. I am not crazy about it being electric, just have to get used to having an extension cord and not running it over. But it is light weight and and easy to use. I would recommend this for small driveways and walkways and you can even use this on your deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Très bon produit Parfaite pour la petite ouvrage.

snow chute stuck, won't rotate

The snow chute seems to be stuck. The augur turns fine but the snow chute sticks and the augur disengages. Should I lubricate the chute? If so, where and with what? What should I have done at the end of last season to prevent this?

How difficult is it to push?

I have had some trouble with my back and I'm wondering what would be easier, pushing this light weight snow blower or using the heavier self propelled gas snow blowers. Electric Snowblower Item #: 712 552 903 10
Asked by: Gustav
If you have a bad back you definitely do not want anything to do with this little brute. It's about the same as pushing a wide " Snow Scrapper Shovel" . Any pushing will likely throw your back out of alignment. I'd recommend a 10 HP with "Power Steering" and the Automatic Drive System and that way all you do is walk behind it and there is ZERO stress on any parts of your body. The power Steering is simply a lever under the handle that turns the machine on its own axis and you do not have to fight the Snow Blower constantly to turn or to direct it. It does it all itself. See Sears Number 710 - 352 - 993 - 10. It's the Best Choice you will ever make in buying a Snow Blower. I hope this was Helpful.
