This saw worked great until it fell off my bench and the handle broke. Sears does not sell parts for this saw so it is unrepairable. So if something goes wrong after the 12 month warranty, you've got an expensive boat anchor.

Pros:Â Easy to operate

Cons:Â unrepairable

Good deal on sale

Worked great right out of the box. I use it almost exclusively for 90-degree cuts so I can't really speak to mitre/bevel features.
I got clean square cuts each time with the OEM blade. When I think of the times I tried to get precise cuts from my old circular saw, well ...
It's intelligently laid out, solid, and does what it's supposed to.
Only con is that the dust-collection system is pretty weak. I'm going to see about hooking up the dust outlet to a shop vac.

Very nice saw!

Picked this up because I was about to install baseboards and trim in 23' X 24' irregular rec room with three large windows and three doors. Performed wonderfully! MUCH quieter than my elderly (Eaton Tecomaster!) radial arm saw, and much more portable. The laser guide is a great aid - no more sighting along the blade or picking the right offset tooth.
Quibbles: the dust bag is mainly for decoration - catches 10% of the dust at most - and the calibration adjustments differed from what was in the manual - mine had hex bolts with locking nuts for the stops, not allen heads. No big deal. If anything, the hex heads are better - don't have to dig the sawdust out of a socket before adjusting.

Pros:Â Easy to operate, Powerful, Accurate, Good design

Yes it will cut up to 12inches but only when the miter angle is at 0 degrees. It will cut up to 8inches wide when the miter angle is set at 45 degrees

Mitre Saw Feature list

I have just purchased Item # 091 828 698 10 (Mitre Saw). Part of my reason for choosing this item was its Brake feature.
Now that bI have receive the saw and have inspected it, I cannot locate the brake.
When started the blade spins freely. When the trigger is released the blade continues to spin and slows over time.
How is the brake engaged?
