Unit not working!!

Q:Â

My chain drive unit is about 5 years old and will only open and close small distances at a time. I sometimes takes 10 minutes to close the door, if it will open. I have checked all of the sensors and everything is OK. The unit 'chirps' for about 10-20 seconds when it stops opening/closing and there is no error light flashing to indicate the potential fault.
Is it the motor? What could be going on with this?

Probably the garage door spring is broken The spring lighten's the load on the opener and allows the motor to runIf it is broken then the load is to much and the motor will cut out

Yes, and even with the extension it's a close fit. I had to readjust the hinge j-bracket attaching to the door to make the door open 100%. Mind you that adjustment takes literally 30 seconds since its a hinge pin.

You'll have to adjust the door open/ close movement in larger increments since you'll be a foot further.

Garage Door Opener Compatibility

I have a Mastercraft Garage Door opener however there is something faulty in the main unit. I would like to be able to keep a majority of the existing equipment in place including keyless remotes however not sure if this model or what model is compatible.
