beware only 30 day return

Bought this watch as a gift for a birthday that was 3 weeks after the purchase date ... rshortly after, the receiver of the watch informed me that it never kept time ...when I tried to return or send for warranty was THEN informed by sears that I only had a 30 day warranty because I did not purchase with a sears card ( 90 day if using sears card )I now have to return watch at my own cost directly to Citizen. Not a great warranty for a fairly expensive watch. If purhasing this watch make sure it is working properly right away.
