Ratings & reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the Best - Rough Material I agree with the other review on this item. These pants are made from a linen-cotton blend where the result is more wool/work than comfort oriented. Even with ironing, the material is extremely rough and pills easily to increase the uncomfortable "scratch" on your legs. I would think that the other reviewer made an error when they said these were "low rise" and in fact they are very much high rise (high wasted). If you wear your pants at the hip, you may find the crotch a little too roomy (Ii.e. halfway to your knees). You may wish to try "Harbor Bay" for a more casual comfort level. This Island Passport item is nothing that I would purchase again. Not recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible - like hopsack I ordered 2 of these pants, thinking they were by the same company that made some shorts I've had for years and loved (Island Outfitters). Not quite the same - this company is Island PASSPORT . These pants felt coarse and uncomfortable. I fully unpacked one pair on a chance that I could wash them "soft" but even after 2 washings, these pants are heavy and rough like potato sacks. Please also note that they also have a very low rise and the waist is one size down from what you normally wear (i.e. 1X may be plenty for anyone that measures 2x under normal circumstances). You may have to experiment. There is zero chance you would you want to wear these in any summer conditions, unless you wanted skin problems. Something akin to wool pants is the best way to describe them. I wonder if a whole bottle of fabric softener would ease them up. Needless to say, the second pair is going back to Sears untouched for a full refund. I'll keep working and washing the other pair in hopes they will become wearable over time.
